I shared this super easy recipe yesterday on my Instagram account and I thought it would be a quick + simple one to share on here as well. Make sure you follow me on Instagram because I’m going to start doing more of these video recipes!
Overnight oats have become a staple of mine because they’re so easy to make (dump the ingredients in a jar + shake) and if you choose your ingredients carefully it can be an extremely healthy breakfast option while on the go. I already shared my apple peanut butter version but this one is totally different. This chocolate strawberry version has raw cacao powder which is a power house of nutrients. Since it’s raw it does have a slightly bitter taste so I add a natural sweetener to give the oats a milk chocolate taste. I like this with strawberries in the summer but when pomegranates are in season, the seeds are an amazing substitute!
In a jar combine ½ cup old fashioned oats (not quick cooking!), 1 tbsp raw cacao powder, 1 packet truvia and ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or sweetened if you want your oats sweeter!). Put the lid on and shake, then add in ½ cup diced strawberries and put in the fridge overnight.
You can heat these oats up or eat them right out of the fridge like I do. It’s really that easy! Do you guys have a good overnight oats recipe that you use? If so, please share in the comments below!
