Happy New Year!

I can’t believe how fast this year flew by and that 2013 is just hours away! I wanted to take the time to wish all of you a happy, healthy and safe New Years Eve. My husband and I switched things up last year and went to The Ice Ball at the Statler Hotel, but this year we will be returning to our old tradition of dinner with friends at our favorite restaurant. We love to make really late reservations so that we’re just finishing up dinner at midnight making it perfect timing for dessert and a champagne toast! I have so many fun new things to share in the upcoming year and we’re re-doing a few rooms in our house so there will be lots of DIYs to accompany that! I figured I’d leave you all this year with some of my really great appetizer and cocktail recipes that would be perfect to make if you’re staying in tonight or heading to a party!

This Six Layer Hummus Dip came from my mom’s best friend Laurie and it’s not only delicious and perfect for a party, it’s incredibly easy to make! (click here to get the recipe):

If you’re looking for a wonderfully refreshing cocktail Mojitos are the way to go… try the original or different varieties like these orange & basil or strawberry & mint (click here to get the recipes):

My personal favorite appetizer is Brie en Croute, a simple recipe disguised in a really impressive presentation (click here to get the recipe!):

These blackberry cassis aperitifs are a great way to get your party going since they have very little alcohol and get your appetites going serve these as your guests arrive (click here to get the recipe!):

For a really easy and crowd pleasing appetizer, make these goat cheese canapes… try the walnut and cranberry topping I made or play around to suit the taste of your guests (click here to get the recipes):

These aren’t an appetizer but I think these mini pancake stacks would be an amazing thing to serve at the end of the night before your guests leave… after a night of cocktails nothing is better than some comforting fluffy pancakes (click here to get the recipe!):

I think it’s a cool idea to make a signature drink for a party, especially one on a night like tonight where cocktails are such a big feature… try these Apple Bourbon Mojitos and you’ll be sure to impress (click here to get the recipe!):

You can’t go wrong with chicken salad and presenting them in these little endive leaves make them a great appetizer for a party (click here to get the recipe!):

This taco ring is nice because it brings all the flavors of a make-it-yourself-taco bar into one dish so it satisfies a lot of people while not making such a mess (click here to get the recipe!):

Loving these beautiful photos. I hope everyone has had a chaotic and exciting new year, rest in peace to all the souls who were unfairly snatched, and thank god for all the wonderful moments that will stay with us forever. Happy New Year everyone!
